Despite an over decade-long hiatus, College Football video games returned with a vengeance with College Football 25. With over 100 teams to choose from, there are a quite frankly ridiculous amount of players included in the game, each with their own stats fine-tuned to their real-life ability.

Some stats make a bigger difference than others, and speed in particular is a stat that is paramount in most positions. There are few players on the team that touch the ball as often as the quarterback, so a high speed stat on a QB can make an incredible difference throughout a season. In this list, certain players have tied with others in speed; in these situations, the tiebreaker has gone to the higher overall rating.

10 Cal Swanson

SPD: 90 OVR: 71 AWR: 75 Freshman (Illinois)

Hailing from Illinois, Cal Swanson is 6'3", 195 lbs, with a Scrambler tendency. While his overall rating is only 71, he does have more than just speed on his side. In terms of his passing skills, he has a solid throw power of 89, and his accuracy is fairly middle of the road. Considering that he's a freshman with an awareness rating of 75, he could certainly improve into a pretty solid quarterback.

Illinois itself is a team that is somewhere in the middle of the pack. They are not ranked, but they do have an overall rating of 80. If you're looking for a team with a quick quarterback and solid improvement potential as a roster, Illinois could be a good choice.

9 Bert Emanuel Jr.

SPD: 90 OVR: 74 AWR: 79 Sophom*ore (Central Michigan)

Coming out of Central Michigan, Bert Emanuel Jr. is 6'3", 220 lbs, with a Scrambler tendency. His overall rating comes in at 74, with an awareness rating near upper-average at 79. He has pretty solid throw power at 89, and accuracy around average.

Central Michigan is a bit of a slightly above-average team, not particularly near ranking but not a bottom-of-the-barrel team, either. They would be a team to choose if you're looking for a quarterback with speed and room to grow, with a roster that has room to grow alongside him.

8 Haynes King

SPD: 90 OVR: 83 AWR: 87 Junior (Georgia Tech)

Playing for Georgia Tech, Haynes King is 6'3", 204 lbs, with a Scrambler tendency. His overall rating is pretty good at 83, with a very good awareness of 87. He also has above-average throwing power at 92, and extremely good accuracy and throw-on-the-run potential.

Georgia Tech is a slightly above-average team overall at 80, with a better offense than defense. Considering that Haynes is a Junior, you don't have a whole lot of time to build a team around him before he's graduated, but if you can get a couple of key positions, this is a team that could make a good run.

7 Mike Wright

At Northwestern, Mike Wright is 6'4", 195 lbs with another Scrambler tendency. His overall rating is only 73, with an awareness rating sitting alright at 81. He is a senior so there's not a whole lot more room for him to grow, though he does have acceptable throw power at 86, and decent accuracy across the board.

Northwestern is another middle-of-the-road roster at 80 overall. Their defense is their strength, and if you're looking to take over a team that might be a bit of a project to build, Northwestern could be a good pick.

6 Hauss Hejny

SPD: 91 OVR: 74 AWR: 68 Freshman (TCU)

A freshman with potential from TCU, Hauss Hejny is 6'0", 190 lbs, and a Scrambler tendency. His overall is only 74, but he is a freshman, meaning that should only go up from there. He's got a solid arm already with a throw power of 88, and his accuracy in the short and medium range is very good, only falling off on deep throws.

A solid roster overall, TCU has an overall of 80 with equal offense and defensive ratings. With a quarterback that can theoretically sit and learn for a year or two, they could be a roster primed to explode in a couple of seasons with a good hand there to guide it.

5 Alex Orji

SPD: 91 OVR: 78 AWR: 80 Junior (Michigan)

At Michigan, Alex Orji is 6'3", 236 lbs. He's a junior, meaning he doesn't have an extreme amount of room to grow, but is not necessarily in his last season. He has a very strong arm at 93 throw power, but below-average accuracy, particularly in the long-range department.

Overall, Michigan has a high-ranked roster with very good recruiting potential for future seasons. If you're looking to take over a powerhouse team right off the bat, this could be a good pick for you.

4 Taylen Green

SPD: 91 OVR: 80 AWR: 87 Junior (Arkansas)

A junior at Arkansas, Taylen Green is a towering 6'6", 223 lbs, with a Scrambler tendency. With a great throw power of 94 and overall pretty good accuracy, Taylen would be a fun quarterback to play with some potential for very fun plays.

While not quite ranked, Arkansas has a very solid roster at 85 overall. Balanced between offense and defense, this is a roster that could make a good run and has the potential to be molded into whatever style you see fit in the near future.

3 Jalen Milroe

SPD: 91 OVR: 90 AWR: 92 Junior (Alabama)

An elite junior coming out of Alabama, Jalen Milroe is 6'2", 220 lbs with an Improviser tendency. He's one of the best quarterbacks on the list, with possible room to grow a little bit still, too. He has a throw power of a staggering 96, with great accuracy to boot, especially at both extremes.

Alabama is a great option for a player looking to play as one of the best teams. If you want to make a trophy run right off the bat without too much hassle, Alabama would be a good place to do it.

2 Michael Johnson Jr.

SPD: 92 OVR: 76 AWR: 74 Senior (Syracuse)

Coming out of Syracuse, Michael Johnson Jr. is 6'3", 210 lbs, with a Scrambler tendency. He's the second-fastest quarterback in the game, with his only real weakness being in accuracy. His short and medium accuracy is alright, but it does fall off at the deep end.

Though not ranked, Syracuse does have a pretty good roster at 85 overall, balanced between offense and defense. They could be prime to make some minor improvements soon and be a trophy contender.

1 Nate Johnson

SPD: 95 OVR: 77 AWR: 76 Junior (Vanderbilt)

The fastest quarterback in the game by a wide margin and hailing from Vanderbilt, Nate Johnson is 6'1", 196 lbs, with a Scrambler tendency. Good throw power and short accuracy make him a good short-passing offense with some run options.

With one of the weaker rosters, Vanderbilt would be a fun team to pick up and plan to build into a powerhouse over multiple years. It would certainly be a challenging prospect, but it would be a fun offense to run with a quarterback like Nate Johnson.
