Hello, figure I’ve lurked long enough but not a heavy poster anyway. I recently bought a new Am Pro II and so far so good. No complaints, really.
I’ve been playing off and on (mostly off) since summer of ‘69. First guitar was an acoustic Heit and my first electric was a Heit Strat copy (best I can remember, it was the 70s after all Hello from Virginia (2)) are/were MIJ AFAIK. They’re both long gone.
Anyway over the years had a few guitars, started flatpicking bluegrass in early 90s into mid 00s. Had a Taylor, sold that bought a 96 Martin HD28 VR new. Still have it always will. Age and arthritis slightly in hands I seldom play it these days. Also in late 90s picked up a MIM Strat which I still have. Gradually shifted from bluegrass to blues, rock. Needed a thinner neck for comfort.
In ‘17 picked up an SG Standard which I love, still have, always will.
A few months ago I wanted to add an American made Strat to collection and it has since become my main guitar. For now. No complaints, love the tone and versatility. Also love the color, Artic White with tortoise pu guard nice contrast.
That’s it for now.
-Kevin

Roanoke here. I was just in Fredericksburg this past week. You have a cool guitar shop downtown! Welcome.

Yes- Pickers Supply is where I bought my Taylor and Martin. Some cool pre-war stuff there. There used to be another guitar shop, Apple Music - which mainly sold electrics- that’s where I bought my Mexican Strat in 90s. GC came to the mall and pretty sure that ended them.

I didn’t have a chance to stop at Picker’s Supply on Wednesday, but I did stop in last summer when my son and I visited Mary Washington (he’s going to Radford this fall). I also saw you have a GC.

We have two fantastic stores here in Roanoke—Kelley’s, which is mainly Gibson/Fender and electrics, and the Fret Mill, which is mostly Taylor and Martin. Stop in if you’re ever in the Roanoke area.
