    You've probably seen the stat that the average person is using an average of 7 social media platforms ( before you come at me, WhatsApp is considered one of those!) What you might not be aware of is that 51% of LinkedIn users are also on TikTok!So, does that mean you need to be spending every second of every day creating content for every platform there is? Or just reposting the same reel everywhere?Well, in a word, No!Instead, my top tip is to focus on one main platform and repurpose your content to use across other platforms. Different platforms serve different purposes and one piece of content can be repurposed to suit the mood of each platform. If you create a video resize it for the next platform, or even better turn the information into a carousel or text post.     To TikTok or not? I follow the conversations and developments with interest in the US. And I want to share a few ponderings on the recent discussions about the TikTok ban; Let’s start with the question;What non-Chinese social media platforms are allowed in China? Facebook? nope, blocked since 2009. Is it a ban or a reform?Using the word TikTok ban is unfortunate. TikTok has US investors, and there are US interest in TikTok. A restructure is perhaps a better choice of word. Will TikTok disappear if the bill is passed? Personally, I think with TikTok's $50 billion evaluation - money will win, and the app will still be around. But the CCP doesn’t own TikTokByteDance is beholden to CCP. Just as any other Chinese company. And we need to remember that China isa “democratic dictatorship”. On that note, it’s reported in the The New York Times that TikTok sent push alerts to some (not all) of their users, urging them to call their representatives, to stop a TikTok “ban” or “shut down”.Some screen grabs show that there was no way to use the app if you didn’t call your representative. Interesting. Especially when you Google the definition of PSYOPS:“One example of PSYOPS ispropaganda, a type of communication or advertisem*nt that aims to influence a targeted group's way of thinking or decision-making. Ultimately, the goal of a propaganda campaign is to compel a population to take action in line with a specific message by introducing influential information.”Businesses will lose money if they can’t access TikTokNo one “owns” their audience on social media - all businesses, influencers and so forth are in the hands of and dependent on the platform. The platform tweaks the algorithm and displays content as they see fit or to the highest bidder. Business owners that are solely dependent on social media to reach their audience - risk their business, because they don’t own their audience. Are US social media platforms any better? I don’t think so, they do some shady things too. #tiktok #tiktoknews #socialmedia
