OMG!!! Lunasea was sooo right!!! These are amazingly good! I took Lacrenshaws advice and I used Kielbasa instead of ground hot pork sausage and it worked great! I didn't have to cook the Kielbasa so it made it even easier than it already was. I added some cayenne pepper to make up for the heat that the hot sausage would of had. I just used plain sauerkraut. I followed the rest of the recipe as written. These taste like a cheese dog with sauerkraut, all in one! I'm definitely making these for my next party! They are the perfect hor dervour! I served it with mustard for dipping! This made 44 meatballs. I think I'll have to triple the recipe next time! I added a photo!

Hi there! I made this mixture up last night and let it chill overnight to finish tonight. They are incredible and delicious! I used Bavarian sauerkraut to get the caraway punch. I also added 2 diced (seeded and ribbed) jalapenos and 1/4 diced red bell pepper to the saute pan with the sausage and onions. They rock! I love that they are baked as opposed to frying - so much easier. Great recipe - thanks so much! I'll be making these regularly. Wow.
