Turns Out, Tom Holland Completely Improvised THAT Scene In "Infinity War" (2024)

Tom Holland, how dare you compromise my emotions like this?!

Kids, it's time to talk about Avengers: Infinity War whether you like it or not. The film has already broken Star Wars' record for the biggest opening weekend of all time earning an estimated $250 million. (In comparison, The Force Awakens, opened to a $248 million domestic debut.)

But it's not only box-office records that the most ambitious crossover event in history is breaking, it's also breaking the hearts of millions of fans all over the world.

Director Joe Russo revealed at a Q&A event yesterday that your friendly neighbourhood Spiderman, Tom Holland IMPROVISED one of his most important scenes - and it's gonna break your damn heart even more.

Ok as we all know, a LOT of drama happens at the end of the film. As Thanos manages to snag the last Infinity Stone to complete his gauntlet, he snaps his fingers in Z-formation and all of your favourite characters start dropping off like flies. Bucky goes, T'Challa goes, Groot goes... I mean, I could go on but it's too soon, it's still too soon. But there was one death in particular that hit the viewers hard and it's now been revealed that that scene was ENTIRELY improvised.

Russo stopped by the University of Iowa to give a little talk yesterday (April 30) and also gave a surprise Q&A at a nearby high school and shared some interesting details about Avengers: Infinity War. He confirmed that Valkyrie survived, teased that we'll be waiting a LONG time for the title of Avengers 4 and revealed that Tom Holland completely improvised his death scene. Yes, really. It wasn't scripted. That was all Tom.

Just after Star-Lord, Doctor Strange, Drax and Mantis all evaporate into thin air, Peter tells Tony that he's "not feeling so good" before falling into his arms and desperately pleading how much he "doesn't want to go."

According to those who were in attendance, Russo told the group that he simply told Tom that Peter didn't want to die, and Holland took it from there, delivering one HELL of an exit.

It is truly the most heartbreaking scene in the whole film (no offence, Gamora) and now, absolutely NO ONE can handle even thinking about that scene in the same way.

Yes, Tom Holland really did THAT™. Tom, just to let you know, I'm sending you my therapy bill. x
