He has held many academic appointments in Maryland and Washington, D.C., and is a consultant to the Food and Drug Administration and the National Eye Institute of the National Institutes of Health. He still holds his academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Surgery at the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine, Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, Bethesda, Maryland.

Dr. Memmen is a diplomate of The American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Memmen has given many lectures and published a variety of articles on his specialty. Dr.

Memmen, a native of Waukegan, Illinois, attended the University of Illinois in Urbana, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Biochemistry. He received his M.D. at Rush Medical College in Chicago, and served as an internal medicine intern at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia. Lawrence, 40, 340 N. pleaded no contest sexual I assault. Maples A presentence investigation has been ordered, and Lawrence will be sentenced Sept. 2. According to court records, Lawrence was accused of having sexual contact with a 5-year-old girl.

He is free on a $5,000 signature bond. Scott Brefczynski, 31, 815 Christiana entered an Alford Plea to a charge of burglary by a repeater. An Alford Plea is one in which a defendant maintains his innocence but agrees there is enough evidence to convict him. According to court records, Brefczynski broke into a west side residence Feb. 28 and took a clock, a vase and some food.

He will be sentenced Aug. 30 and his bond has been revoked. Jesse J. Schmude, 18, 712 12th pleaded guilty to being party to the crime of burglary and was sentenced to 90 days in jail. He was convicted of helping to break into a storage building ip the village of Howard Dec.

Police In Green Bay, Douglas Wales, 34, was arrested Wednesday on a police charge of first-degree sexual assault, according to Police Capt.

Cletus Alexander. Wales' address is listed as 2307 Farlin Ave. by the City Personnel Department, but Green Bay police said his current address is 631 W. Briar Lane, Allouez. Wales is accused of allegedly fondling a 9-year-old west side girl Sunday at Marquette Park where he works as a park atten- By Scott Hildebrand Press-Gazette A Brown County supervisor is asking for a review of the county's procedures for responding to hazardous spills.

Supervisor Mark Blozinski, disappointed with the response Saturday to a report of what he called a "green-blue slime" on Green Bay, has asked the county Public Safety Committee to review the matter. The committee scheduled to meet next Wednesday. Blozinski said the Brown County Sheriff's Department was unable to reach a Department of Natural Resources warden after Blozinski reported that the substance had been found coming up on the shore in the 2700 block of East Shore Drive. Blozinski said he finally reached DNR public information official Dave Crehore several hours after the sighting of the substance was reported. Crehore went to the sheriff's department, where Blozinski had left a sample of the substance, and then to the site where the substance was found.

DNR spokesmen said Thursday the substance turned out to be algae and did not pose a threat to the environment. Blozinski said he was disappointed with the "runaround" hegot. "Nine out of 10 times, it turns out to be a false alarm," Blozinski said. "What if that 10th time it turns out to be a dangerous chemi-, cal? Douglas Rossberg, DNR solid and hazardous waste district pervisor, said DR conservation wardens generally are the first respond to reported spills. He said local sheriff's departments are given the radio call numbers and office and home telephone numbers of wardens.

Tetzel, who authorities say may have witnessed the beating at Goodletson's trailer home, left the area in a different car but later got into Goodletson's car after the first car caught fire, the complaint states. Tetzel is free on a $2,000 signature bond.
